(AKA The Hog or Hawgsbreath)

Named after its breeder, Hog’s Breath first blossomed in Tennessee, and then TH Seeds took up care for the strain. It is a genetic cross between the Hindu Kush and Afghani. It emits a cheesy-like, pungent wet dog scent. Hog’s Breath gained recognition when it bagged the 2002 Cannabis Cup for best indica. Its dense buds are light and dark mint green with thin orange hairs and a thick sheet of crystals.

Medical Benefits of Hog’s Breath

The therapeutic properties of Hog’s Breath make it an analgesic, anxiolytic, anti-depressant, stimulant, relaxant, and appetite booster.

Negative Effects of Hog’s Breath.

Side effects are common to any form of medicine. This goes the same for Hog’s Breath. A parched mouth and dry eyes will cause some inconvenience. You have to hydrate to get rid of these effects. Downing on a few glasses of water than the usual will diminish the reactions. A good eye moisturizer drop can also be helpful in soothing those irritated eyes.

Rarely, greening out may also occur. This is characterized by anxiety, dizzy spells, and worse, paranoia. This is due to overconsumption, so go slow with the doses, especially if you are new to cannabis.

Growing Hog’s Breath

Hog’s Breath is an easy plant to cultivate. It thrives both indoors and outdoors. It prefers a cool climate. Flowers blossom after 8 to 9 weeks.  It appears short and bushy, with strong branches stemming out. You have to prune and trim it to allow healthier growth. You also need to apply for support on the stems to avoid drooping due to the weight of the flowers.
